Oxycodone Found In Local Mussels

Scientists have found Oxycodone in some mussels -- in Elliott bay and the waters around Bremerton.

So if you’re wondering if this is because people are flushing their oxy pills directly down the commode - well - no -- this is all thanks to human urine runoff.

Don’t worry-- seafood markets get their mussels from clean and opioid-free locations.

And if some desperate folks are thinking – “hey - I bet if I ate some of those mussels, I could catch a buzz.”

No -- guess how much contaminated mussels you’d have to eat -- 150 pounds.
