Heart's Ann Wilson recently announced that she has cancer and must undergo preventative chemotherapy in the coming months. The "Barracuda" hitmaker is postponing the band's Royal Flush Tour with Cheap Trick, originally scheduled to kick off on July 30th, until she is able to make a full recovery. Wilson shared the unfortunate health update across social media, revealing that she already underwent an operation and that she is taking the rest of the year off to heal, per doctor's orders.

“Dear friends, I recently underwent surgery to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous. The operation was successful & and I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it. And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”

The 74-year-old icon assured ticket holders that she would be back on stage in 2025 and would provide details as soon as possible.

“This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.”

Ann's little sister and bandmate Nancy Wilson shared the news to Instagram, encouraging fans to "stay tuned" for the future of the tour.

“HELLO beloved Heartmongers and noble Heart fans! Happy to let you all know that the HEART tour is still coming your way, but we need to take a temporary pause and postpone the remaining HEART tour dates for now. Rescheduled dates are on the way so stay tuned.”

The band also had to cancel the European leg of their tour in May as Wilson recovered from her operation.

The "Alone" legend noted that this was the "last public statement" she would make regarding the diagnosis. A specific form of cancer was not revealed as the world awaits positive news regarding Wilson's health and the future of the Royal Flush Tour.
