Arnold Schwarzenegger is attempting to break through Russian state propaganda and speak with the country's people directly. In a nine-minute video posted online, the actor and former California governor said he wanted to share with them the truth about Russia's invasion into Ukraine.
He explained the global sanctions and how Russian soldiers are being misled by being told they are fighting Nazis in Ukraine. Schwarzenegger referenced his own father, who was a Nazi, saying his father was also misled by his government and he doesn't want the Russian troops to be broken like him. Schwarzenegger also called on Putin to end the war while celebrating those brave enough to protest it.
