Meteors? Falcon 9 Debris Creates Light Show Over Seattle [Video]

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifts off from launch complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on November 15, 2020.

Did you see the lights last night around 9pm?

People across the Seattle area were in awe Thursday night of what appeared to be a slow-moving meteor streaking across the sky. Videos on social media show people reacting to the dazzling light show, which was seen from Canada to Oregon. Amazed viewers speculated it was either a large meteor or a comet breaking up in the atmosphere. The National Weather Service in Seattle said the widely reported bright objects were the debris from a Falcon 9 second-stage rocket that had been orbiting the Earth for 22 days.
