Lee Callahan says see 'The Peanut Butter Falcon' [Trailer, Too.]

The Peanut Butter Falcon opens today! I wholeheartedly say, 'Go see it,' because you're going to feel good all over. The story is perfect, the cinematography is stellar, editing and dialogue is fresh and smart, and you fall in love with the characters. And, even the actors... even though I was a little weary of Shia LaBeouf and Dakota Johnson going in. (Shia, because he's got a bad reputation, and Dakota, for all those 50 Shades movies.) Sorry for pre-judging, you two.

It's obvious it's a take on the Mark Twain story, but, hey, why not tell it again, with people who should now get the spotlight. Enter Zak (Zack Gottsagen), a young man with Down Syndrome, who runs away from a residential nursing home to follow his dream of attending the professional wrestling school of his idol, The Salt Water Redneck (Thomas Haden Church - who I have always adored).

A strange turn of events pairs him on the road with Tyler (LaBeouf), a small time grumpy outlaw on the run, who becomes Zak’s unlikely pal. And then, they head off on their adventure down the deltas.

Enjoy. I certainly did.
