We have good news and bad news.
The good news is workers are 85% complete with demolition of the viaduct AND as of today, S. King St at Alaskan Way along with Yesler Way at Alaskan Way has reopened. According to WSDOT, their goal is to actually be done with the waterfront by the end of summer.
On the other hand, starting today (8/21/2019) part of S. Jackson St. East of Alaskan Way will close for at least a few weeks while crews demolish one of two remaining viaduct sections.
