Most people who had a MySpace profile probably don't look much like they did when MySpace was the biggest social network in the world, but that is really the case for Brookelle McKenzie. The 28-year-old make-up artist and model has made a name for herself on Instagram, amassing 900,000 followers. It turns out, Brookelle was into social media from a young age and shared a photo of herself, looking very different, from her time as a 14-year-old who posted pics to MySpace.
She captioned the picture "RaWR xD don't h8 me top 8 me rOfL <3" adding, "I feel like I'm revealing my true identity. Who remembers the MySpace Brookelle?"
The photo shows a pale, emo, black-haired teen with lots of eyeliner that looks nothing like the tan, blonde Brookelle of today. The model revealed, "Fun fact: I used to cut my own hair (with a razor). What a time to have been alive."
Her fans were shocked, and many of the thousands of commenters actually were friends with her on MySpace without realizing the emo MySpace girl is the same Brookelle that they now follow on Instagram. Among the things they wrote were, "So crazy i had no idea that was you ive known u for maaaaad long" and "Omg I didn’t know that was you! You've been iconic your whole life!"
