Family members of legendary singer Aretha Franklin confirmed on Monday that she is really sick.
The Detroit native is at home and her family is asking for her fans to pray for her.
Franklin came to Detroit as a young child and was the daughter of pastor C.L. Franklin who served at New Bethel Baptist Church.
The 76-year-old performer had to cancel appearances earlier this year due to medical issues.
She announced last year that she would be retiring from touring to spend time with her family. Her last live performance was in November at the Elton John AIDS foundation even in New York City.
